2015 Annual Conference Reports

From July 11 – 15, 2015 members of the Church of the Brethren met in Tampa, Florida for the 229th recorded Annual Conference of our denomination. The five days were filled with inspiring worship services, 64 various Insight Sessions from which to choose, special meals sponsored by various agencies of the church with interesting guest speakers and, of course, the important business of the Church of the Brethren was discussed on the three days sandwiched between the opening and closing days of the conference. A highlight of this year’s gathering was the participation of our sisters and brothers of EYN, the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, and its Women’s Fellowship Choir.
We invite everyone to come on August 30 at 9:00 a.m. to the Family Life Center to hear reports about Annual Conference. We will watch a short wrap-up video of the conference produced by David Sollenberger and our delegates will share comments on various aspects of the experience for each of them. Representing Lancaster CoB this year were Tim Dunbar, Cindy Lattimer and Suzanne Schaudel.
Even if you do not regularly attend Sunday School, please plan to be in the Family Life Center at 9:00 on August 30 to learn more about the important work of our denomination. After Sunday School we will remain in the FLC as one body for a combined worship which will highlight our children who are being promoted into a new Sunday School Class and recognize the three individuals of Maranatha who will be licensed into ministry. It should be a great Sunday at LCOB!
