November 4 & 5, 2017

The second annual Seeking First the Kingdom conference will be held on November 4 & 5, 2017, and the Spiritual Renewal Committee is pleased to announce that the Rev. Belita D. Mitchell, Senior Pastor of Harrisburg First Church of the Brethren, will be the keynote speaker. In addition to being pastor at Harrisburg, she currently serves on Standing Committee of Annual Conference. Pastor Belita, who was the 2007 Moderator of Annual Conference, will address this event on the day of the conference as well as Sunday morning.

The November 4 event is an all-day conference consisting of breakout sessions called Seeking Sessions. There will be several sessions to choose from in the morning and again in the after-noon following a delicious lunch. The entire event will be built around a common theme, which currently is being developed, and will be announced at a later date.

Joel & Linetta Ballew, the Co-Administrators of Camp Swatara, will lead children and parents in two Seeking Sessions (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) on the theme – Different Gifts, One Body. Nursery care for infants & toddlers will be provided.

As a goal of the 2020 Vision & Mission of the Lancaster Church of the Brethren, it was proposed that annually the church hold a spiritual renewal event. The Spiritual Renewal Committee includes C. Alvin Cott, Arelis Sable, Suzanne Schaudel, Kristen Snoke and Jay Wenger (chair). Advisors to the committee are Pastors Jeff and Cindy.

This event is financed through patron support, free will offerings and donations with no monies coming from the church budget.
