Wednesday Night Live
Wednesday, January 17, 2018
Each Wednesday evening for 10 weeks, January 17 through March 21, we gather in the FLC at 5:00 p.m. for a tasty supper prepared by our volunteer staff. After the meal, there are various activities, including an exciting class taking place from 6:15 — 7:15 in rooms 162–163.
For the January class, highly-regarded geriatrician David Fuchs, MD will review the recent best-selling book Being Mortal by Atul Gawande, which describes a new way of making treatment decisions when faced with life-threatening illness. After reviewing the book on January 17 and 24, Dr. Fuchs will give the class experience in testing the framework for decision-making with hypothetical illnesses. On January 31 he will summarize PA law concerning Advance Directives, POLST, and asset preservation. We are thrilled that Dr. Fuchs will be returning “home” to LCOB for these classes. Many of you will remember Dave and Becky and their family as faithful members of LCOB for many years before Becky became the pastor of the Mountville CoB. Dave was the founder of the Oyster Point Family Practice and is currently Medical Director of Brethren Village.
We hope you will come and join in the fun and fellowship.
