The ART of Caring

Learn the skills you need…

By 2025, the number of people age 65 and older with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias is estimated to reach 7.1 million. Congregations play a critical role in caring for a person, as well as their family, who lives with Alzheimer’s disease or another related dementia. In this offering we will uncover the changes that occur in the brain when diagnosed with a neurocognitive disorder, learn best ways to communicate and the most effective strategies to decrease resistance. There is no charge for the workshop.

Jennifer Holcomb M.S., NHA, CDP, CDCM, CADDCT has a graduate degree in Human Services, is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator, a Certified Dementia Practitioner, a Certified Dementia Care Manager, Certified in Compassionate Touch and a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Teacher. She works directly with people in varying stages of Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias and currently oversees the Memory Care program at Cross Keys Village. Jennifer also serves on the PA Department of Aging Alzheimer’s and other related dementias task force which address dementia needs across the Commonwealth.
