Join Us for Special Easter Weekend Events!
The Lancaster Church of the Brethren invites you to two outdoor events for Easter weekend. The congregation will worship on the church grounds on Easter Sunday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m., and will host a Covid-safe drop-in Easter Egg Hunt for children on Saturday, April 3, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
The Easter service will include a message by Lead Pastor Misty Wintsch, music by the Lancaster Brass Quintet, and a volunteer choir of all comers to sing the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah. Worshipers are asked to bring their own chairs, but some seating will be provided.
Prior to the service, from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., the church will safely serve a free breakfast, with both indoor and outdoor physically distanced seating. Masks will be required inside the building and when moving about outside, but there will be separate masked and unmasked seating areas during the service. In addition to the live outdoor service, the church also will provide its regular pre-recorded online service at lancob.org.
In case of inclement weather, the breakfast will be served in the family life center, and the worship service will be held in the church sanctuary, where seating is limited to 100 physically distanced worshipers. Masks are required.
The Saturday egg hunt will invite children and families to walk the church grounds in search of colorful Easter egg posters. Each poster will invite participants to do a different fun activity related to the Easter story. Participants check in when they arrive, and each child will receive a goody bag full of fun treats before they leave. In case of rain, a modified, drive-through option will be offered.
