Second Sunday Events Planned for This Weekend
After an odd start in May, Second Sunday activities this month actually are slated for the second Sunday. That’s this weekend. Following services, the Hospitality Ministry Team will serve a light lunch (pulled pork is on the menu), followed by outdoor activities. The approximate timeline is lunch around 11:30, with croquet, cornhole, children’s games, and more getting underway by about 12:30. Events will wrap up by 2:30 or so—leaving time for you to get your nap!
As part of the outdoor festivities, youth will be tie-dying t‑shirts for their upcoming local work camp. People of any age who would like to join the fun can bring their own shirt. (100% cotton fabric works best. 100% polyester does NOT work at all. Local craft stores have shirts available for under $8.)
Youth leader Linda Byers will have the supplies to help you design and dye your own creation. She will then complete the process (rinse and dry) and return your shirt to you at the next Second Sunday. Or she will provide instructions for you to finish the fabric at home.
Second Sunday will be held each month through October. Attendance at the May event totaled around 50, and planners are hoping it will grow. Whether you want to play croquet or other games, tie-dye a shirt, or just sit and visit, please come and bring a friend!
