Love Feast (Zoom Feast)

Sunday, October 4, 2020
6:00 pm

The church will observe love feast and communion via Zoom on World Communion Sunday, October 4, at 6 p.m.

The event will be handled much like the spring Maundy Thursday love feast. “We are hopeful that more people are comfortable with Zoom this time, so more will be able to participate,” said Pastor of Worship Don Fitzkee.

Pastors will guide the congregation through the service with participants eating a meal, washing hands or feet, and communing at home in concert with others. During the meal, participants will be divided into breakout groups to have table conversation with other families.

In order to participate fully, you will need:

 A computer with a camera, microphone, and internet access. (Most any laptop or tablet should work. A desktop computer will work only if you have a webcam with microphone. Smart phones also work.)

 A meal of your choosing to share as we dine together. Your meal should be ready and on your table as we begin.

 A basin and towel to participate in either feetwashing or handwashing with others in your home. (We hope single people will join us, and we will suggest ways for them to symbolically “wash feet.”)

 Some kind of bread and juice to participate in communion. Deacons will have individually wrapped pieces of communion bread available for pick up at the Sunday morning worship service in the Family Life Center on October 4.

No RSVP is required. Contact the church office for the Zoom link. The virtual doors will open at 5:30 p.m. You can try logging on any time after that to give time to troubleshoot any technology issues or just visit with other early arrivals. Zoom is free, but you must sign up at https://zoom.us/signup.

If you do not have a computer you can participate via speaker phone. With a phone you will be able to hear and speak to others, but you will not be able to see or be seen. A phone number will be provided in the invitation e-mail.
