Outdoor Worship and Breakfast

LCOB will host an informal outdoor worship service on Sunday, September 20, at 10:30 a.m. for the entire congregation. Prior to the service, the Hospitality Ministry Team will serve a full breakfast between 9:15 and 10:15 a.m. Breakfast will include eggs, sausage, ham, coffee, juice, and Bretta Illig’s homemade sticky buns.

The worship service will be held in the parking area east of the church outside of the Family Life Center. Limited seating will be provided. Worshipers are asked to bring their own chairs. Guidance will be provided to help people position chairs with sufficient distancing.

The sermon topic will match that of the online service, but music and some other worship components may be different. Carolyn Fitzkee and Margaret Marsch will lead music and Pastor Alix or Arelis Sable will provide Spanish translation through the headphone system.

The meal will be served by masked and gloved servers who will follow safety protocols to avoid spreading the coronavirus. Trays of food will be handed to each person in an indoor serving line, but seating will be outside. Some tables will be provided, or diners can eat in their own chairs. Helpers will be available to assist people to carry their food, as needed.

Masks will be required for everyone while indoors and while moving about, but obviously will not be required while eating breakfast. During the service, both “masks required” and “masks optional” seating areas will be indicated.
