Winter Quarter Offers Adult Sunday School Options
The Winter Sunday school quarter begins December 4 with three options for adults:
- Discerning God’s Word for Our Lives Today. Using video elements from Pastor Adam Hamilton’s Making Sense of the Bible: Rediscovering the Power of Scripture Today and Pastor Andy Stanley’s The Bible for Grown-Ups series, John and Sue Lines welcome you to the Chapel for thoughtful conversations on issues we wrestle with in our world today. Initially the class will focus on the origins of the Old and New Testaments and then guide us toward a greater understanding of the Word of God for today.
- Guide for Biblical Studies. Led by a variety of teachers, this class is a Bible study of the international Sunday school lesson, using the Brethren lesson guide. The winter theme is “Faith That Pleases God.” Drawing on Scriptures from both Testaments, the quarter is divided into three sections: Profiles in Faith, Learning about Faith, and The Righteous Live by Faith. David Leiter is the lesson writer. David served as pastor of the Green Tree COB in Oaks, PA. Now retired, he lives in Manheim and attends the Elizabethtown COB.
- “Fundamentos de la Fe” por John MacArthur. Room 200. Jorge Ferreras continues a study in Spanish of the 13-part John MacArthur study “Fundamentos de la Fe” (“Fundamentals of the Faith: 13 Lessons to Grow in the Grace and Knowledge of Jesus Christ”).
The annual Christmas Meet & Greet will take the place of Sunday school on December 24.
