Prayer Shawl Ministry

Time: First Wednesday of the Month at 3:00 p.m. & Second Monday of the month at 10:00 a.m.
Location: Gathering Place

Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting are combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as in celebration and joy.

Blessings are prayed into every stitch. The shawl maker begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient and continues those prayers throughout the creation of the shawl. Upon completion, a final blessing is offered before the shawl is sent on its way.

LCOB is blessed to have several members that knit and crochet who have volunteered to work on creating prayer shawls. If you would like more information or are interested in helping with this ministry, please contact Myrl Greiner or visit one of the scheduled meetings in the Gathering Area.
