Sermon Series to Focus on ‘Youthful Callings’
God called some pretty young people to do some pretty big things. Pastors will begin 2024 with a sermon miniseries looking at youthful callings in the Bible.
Epiphany—Don—January 7 (Not part of series)
Text: Matthew 2:1-11
The Magi were singularly focused on finding and worshiping the newborn king. How committed are we in our journey toward and with Jesus?

The boy Jesus was wise beyond his years. It might have had something to do with who his Father was.
Beatitudes—Don—January 21

On a weekend when the Interdistrict Youth Cabinet is meeting at our church, we will follow their lead and focus on Jesus’ Beatitudes. Our guests may assist in worship leader roles in various services.
Samuel—Misty—January 28
Text: 1 Samuel 3:1-19
When Eli’s sons proved unfit to follow in their father’s footsteps, God called the boy Samuel to be priest and prophet.
Beloved (Service Sunday)—Don—February 4
Texts: 1 John 4:7-12; 1 Timothy 4:12
Paul told Timothy not to let people look down on him because he was young. On a Sunday when the denomination encourages congregations to celebrate those who serve, we reflect on what it means to be beloved by God and how serving often forms leaders.
Daniel—Misty—February 11
Text: Daniel 1
Teenage Daniel was taken to a foreign land, where his captors sought to erase his culture and faith. Daniel had the courage to remain faithful to God and was blessed.
