New Members to Be Received June 23
New members will be received during a June 23 combined worship service in the church Sanctuary, including some baptisms. (The Chapel service also will meet that Sunday.) LCOB receives new members on their former baptism but requires baptism for new believers and offers the rite to others who seek to symbolize their renewed commitment to Christ and this congregation.
Thirteen people, plus Pastors Misty, Don, and Selma, participated in a Brethren Beliefs & Practices class last Saturday morning at the church. Intended primarily for friends of the congregation who previously made a commitment to Christ, the class provided a brief overview of Brethren history and the denomination today, basic beliefs & practices, and information about how things work at LCOB.
If you would like to be received as a member on June 23—either through a first-time commitment to Christ or through reaffirming your faith—please contact Pastor Misty no later than June 9.
