Wednesday Night Live to Resume September 18

The fall Wednesday Night Live session begins on September 18 and continues weekly through November 20. Each Wednesday will include devotions and a meal at 5:30; children’s music at 6:10; followed by activities for children and youth, an adult class (in English), Spanish Bible Study, and Carillon Bell Choir rehearsal, from 6:30 to 7:30; and finally Chancel Choir rehearsal at 7:45. The meal is by donation.

The Chapel class will focus on the political moment that we are in. Pastor Don Fitzkee and Bob Kettering will lead a six-week study using The After Party video series produced by RedeemingBabel.org. The series comes from an evangelical perspective with Redeeming Babel founding Executive Director Curtis Chang, New York Times columnist David French, and Christianity Today Editor-in-Chief Russell Moore leading the discussion. The introduction to the series explains, “Christians have lost their way when it comes to the intersection of faith and politics. It’s time to reframe our political identity as we take the lead in healing what’s broken.”

Then the final four weeks of the fall WNL season, beginning October 30, Dr. Lee C. Barrett, from Lancaster Theological Seminary, will talk further about how faith/theology shapes politics and suggest some ways for Christians to support each other even when we disagree politically.

Volunteers are needed to do a short devotion each week and also to help set up tables Wednesday afternoons and to serve and clean up after meals. Contact Pastor Misty Wintsch if you can help with devotions and Suzanne Schaudel to help with other tasks.
