Epiphany Concerts to Feature Choirs, Organ, Guest Musicians

The Chancel Choir, Carillon Bell Choir, and organist Margaret Marsch, along with the Wrightsville Brass and members of the Elizabethtown College Concert Choir, will perform two Epiphany concerts in the Sanctuary on Saturday, January 4, at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 5, at 3:00 p.m. The performances are part of the Starlight Tea Concert Series.

The centerpiece of the concert will be Daniel Pinkham‘s Christmas Cantata. The work, premiered in 1957 by the New England Conservatory chorus, uses innovative brass and organ writing that evokes both grandeur and intimacy. This 13-minute master work will be part of a larger concert that will include works by the Carillon Bell Choir, congregational carols, organ pieces by Margaret, and anthems sung by the combined choirs.

This free concert series is supported by patrons and offerings received at concerts. Homemade cookies and tea will be served in the Worship & Event Center following Saturday’s concert. Saturday’s concert will be live streamed.
