Pastors to Offer Brethren Beliefs & Practices Class
Pastors are assessing interest in a Brethren Beliefs & Practices class—with separate tracks in English and Spanish—to be offered at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on an upcoming Saturday.
Assuming there is interest, Pastors Becky, Nancy, and Don will lead one class for English speakers and Pastor Selma another for Spanish speakers. All will share an opening time and lunch together and conclude with a building tour.
The class is open to anyone who would like to learn more about the church and is especially for people interested in exploring membership in our congregation. Topics include but are not limited to: a brief introduction to Brethren history; ordinances including love feast, baptism, and anointing; our view of Scripture and important biblical themes; and an overview of how our congregation and denomination are structured to do God’s work.
People who become members are expected to take the class, but taking the class does not obligate anyone to become a member. Just come and see. If you would like to participate, contact Pastor Don Fitzkee at PastorDonF@lancob.org. In your email, please say which of these dates (if any) works for you: February 15, March 1, or March 29. A date will be chosen to suit the participants.
