Love Feast to Remember Last Supper
The spring love feast and communion service will be held on Maundy Thursday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Worship & Event Center. Guests from the Alpha & Omega congregation in Lancaster will join us for the bilingual service.
The love feast remembers Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples and includes feetwashing; a light meal of a roll, cheese, and grapes; and communion. A handwashing option is provided for those for whom it is difficult to wash feet. In addition, deacons are willing to assist those who would like to participate in feetwashing but need some help. At the spring love feast, men and women are seated separately and feetwashing takes place around tables. Anyone who claims Jesus as Lord and Savior is invited to commune.
Childcare will be provided for young children and Director of Children and Youth Ministries Linda Byers will have an activity for older children during the communion time following the meal.
The service will include some elements in Spanish with English translation on the screen and other parts in English with Spanish projected. Spanish translation will be provided through the headset system for longer portions, and communion will be served with narration in both English and Spanish.
