Easter Services to Celebrate Resurrection!
On her final Sunday with us, Pastor Becky Fuchs will preach from Matthew’s account of the resurrection of Jesus (Matthew 28:1-10). Her topic is “Seeing Is Believing.” The Contemporary and Sanctuary services will include a short chancel drama with Judi Hess, Carol Shearer, and Carole Deck portraying “The Three Women.”
In the Sanctuary service the Wrightsville Brass will join organist Margaret Marsch and the choirs in leading music. For the prelude, Margaret will collaborate with the brass on “Lift High the Cross” (arr. Sondra Tucker) and the Carillon Bell Choir will play “Easter Joy” (Behnke). The Chancel Choir will sing “Alleluia, Christ Is Risen” (Kirkby); “God’s Right Hand” (Scott), accompanied by brass; and volunteers will be invited to join the choir and brass in singing “Hallelujah” from Handel’s Messiah as a benediction. Ken Harnish will lead worship.
In the Contemporary service the Praise Team will lead music, Carole Deck will lead worship, and Pastor Dave Stauffer will provide a children’s time. Pianist Mary Ellen DeWitt will play in the Chapel service. Pastor Don Fitzkee will assist in all English services.
The Sanctuary and Contemporary services will be live streamed. Links to the services will be posted on Facebook, the church website home page, and YouTube by Sunday morning. The Sanctuary service also will be streamed on Facebook Live. Here’s a link to Sunday’s bulletin.
