Food Hub: ‘I Was Hungry and You Fed Me’

For many years our members have contributed generously both with monetary gifts and gifts of food and clothing to the Lancaster County Food Hub. Last year, through the church budget and designated giving, LCOB gave $14,246 to the Food Hub. In addition to that, the church donated 4,048 pounds of food and 1,538 pounds of clothing. Through our giving to the Food Hub, we help feed the hungry and clothe the poor.

The Food Hub has published a list of needed food items. If you can donate any of these items, it would be appreciated. The list includes: 64 oz. fruit juice (no grapefruit), peanut butter, low sugar breakfast cereal, white or brown rice, whole wheat pasta, low sodium soup, canned fruit, canned or pouched tuna or chicken, canned meals with pull tabs, meal helpers (hamburger helper, rice sides, taco kits, etc.) and can openers.

The Food Hub has also published a list of needed clothing items. This list includes: new socks, new underwear, jackets, sweatshirts, tops and shirts, bottoms, shoes, accessories (belts, hats, gloves, scarves, ties, etc.), sleeping bags and bed rolls, rain ponchos, umbrellas, wheeled suitcases, and larger size diapers, and more.

Your donations make a difference! Food donations can be deposited in the shopping cart at the back entrance into the church or in the cabinet outside of the Worship and Event Center (WEC). Clothing donations should be put in the designated area in the coat room near the WEC. Monetary gifts can be designated for the Food Hub.
