Fall Sermons to Focus on Fruit
“Spirit Fruit” is the theme for a fall sermon series beginning on September 15 and continuing until Advent. Near the end of his Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 7, Jesus taught that Christians are recognized by the fruit that they produce. In Galatians 5, the apostle Paul encouraged believers to lay aside negative behaviors and attitudes and instead exhibit the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The “Spirit Fruit” series will remind us of these Christian virtues and encourage us to put them into practice.
