Outreach Team Encourages Donating Blood
In this season of giving, the Outreach & Service Team invites you to consider donating blood at one of our sister churches. This Friday, November 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W. Orange St., Lititz, is hosting a mobile blood drive in partnership with the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank (CPBB).
CPBB routinely holds mobile drives at Lititz COB and other nearby locations, including Park City Center, Universal Athletic Club, Penn Cinema, and Oregon Dairy. Walk-ins are welcome, but CPBB strongly encourages scheduling an appointment. Usually, the whole process takes an hour or less. Click here for a list of upcoming drives and to schedule an appointment at Lititz COB or another location.
CPBB also receives donations at its Lancaster Donor Center on Columbia Avenue. Similarly, Penn Medicine/Lancaster General has a Blood Donor Center at its Suburban Pavilion on Harrisburg Pike. The LGH Center supplies blood for LGH, Women & Babies, and the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute. CPBB supplies multiple hospitals, including those that are part of the UPMC, WellSpan, and Penn State Milton S. Hershey networks.
At the suggestion of a member, the Outreach & Service Team researched hosting a blood drive at our church but determined it would be a challenge to meet the requirements, which included guaranteeing a minimum number of donors. So, instead, the O & S Team encourages those who are able to donate at another location.
