Brethren Sites and Lights Tour

A good experience for all ages.

The ANE District Historical Committee is sponsoring a one-day bus trip to visit several Anabaptist sites in Virginia on Saturday, December 1.

The sites are the John Kline homestead in Broadway, VA, and the Crossroads Mennonite-Brethren Heritage Center in Harrisonburg, VA. Elder John Kline was a leader of the national Church of the Brethren through the trying Civil War period. The Crossroads Heritage Center has displays of artifacts from our Anabaptist roots and several old buildings worth touring.

The lights are 23,000 luminaries on a drive-through tour of the Antietam battle field in Maryland. This important Civil War battle took place on the grounds of a Dunkard Church. Narration regarding the battle will be given by Brethren Historian David Eller.

The cost is only $60 for motor coach transportation, admission donations, a boxed lunch, and driver’s tip. Supper will be at your own expense at a restaurant.
