Demand Is High for Pork & Sauerkraut

More than 20 members and friends of the congregation served 500 pork & sauerkraut meals from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on New Year’s Day, before running out of food and having to turn people away. (We are hopeful those folks who missed out won’t have an unlucky year as a result.)

Witness & Welcome Team Chair George Harmes estimates that the effort raised $4,500 to fund the work of the Team in the coming year. George expressed appreciation for all who helped. “It was a good team of people,” he said.

After taking a couple years off due to the pandemic, last year LCOB served about 300 dinners. Based on that, plans were made for 400 this year. Next year planners will need to aim higher!
